How my journey began
Hi, I’m Sarah. I am a Certified Nutrition Coach as well as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I love to help people meet their goals and am excited to get started with you.
How did I get here?
In 2021 I took a girls trip to Vegas. Although I knew I wasn’t in tip top shape, I was not fully aware how unhappy I felt in my own body. We came home and I looked at pictures and it was only then that I could truly see how my body looked and how I felt in my body.
I remember my journey with dieting started in my college years and honestly maybe before that. My girlfriends and I would join Weight Watchers and have some success, only to quit and gain the weight back, over and over again.
In 2013 I became a mom, having my first child. I gained about 60lbs with this pregnancy and remember seeing the words “excessive weight gain in pregnancy” on my chart. In the next few years I would have 2 more children and it seemed pointless to try to lose the weight in post partum or in the year or so post baby.
As a marriage and family therapist, I could see how my self-esteem was weighing on my ability to feel happy, be present with my children and do all the things that active young children wanted to do. As much as I was able to work with my own clients to be kind to themselves and to give themselves grace, I had difficulty doing it for myself.
It was at the end of 2021 when I truly recognized it was time to make a change.
Since then, I have lost 45 pounds and found a new love for fitness.
And since I already am in the helping business, it seems like a natural extension of myself to offer nutritional coaching to people as well.
